US Energy Corporation began in the workshop of the founder Richard Loupe, back in the early 1950’s in Long Beach, California. With a background in electrical engineering and the desire to create, Richard Loupe gathered a group of like-minded friends and colleagues to design engine starting motors and alternators. This was just the beginning. Now, after more than 50 years, and a move from the current location in Anaheim, California, this small family business is worldwide and they have kept their niche in the oil and gas industry going strong.
Using standard SAE mounting configurations intended for easy installation, our explosion proof AC & DC starters can be applied to both diesel and natural gas engines. With an explosion proof casing manufactured from steel & aluminum, these starters can handle engine displacements from 150 to 12,000 CID. Our starter type allows for dual starter capabilities.Our explosion proof AC & DC starters can handle horsepower ratings ranging from 4 to 35HP with a breakaway torque rating that ranges from 35 to 270 ft-lbs. Our highly customizable explosion proof contactor switches can be used on most engine types, whether diesel or natural gas, and can be easily tailored to meet a client’s individual needs. Constructed with copper-free aluminum enclosures, our corrosion resistant contactor switches can handle up to 3200 amps DC. Features include magnetic contactors with silver contacts, explosion proof enclosures, and an enclosure mounted push button (available upon request).
Our explosion proof alternators are available in both hinge and J-180 base design mounting configurations. Depending on your specifications, we offer alternators with either keyed or threaded shafts which are available ranging from .625 inches (15.875mm) to .680 inches (17.272mm). Alternators are available in your choice of a brushed or brushless design. our alternators are equipped to handle voltage ratings from 12-24 VDC with outputs up to 70 amps and can be used on almost all engine types, including diesel or natural gas.
With the ability to handle up to 270 ft-lbs of torque, our brushless Techno High Voltage AC starters can be used on both diesel and natural gas engines. For specific applications, dual starters are also available upon request. Our high voltage AC starters can also handle an engine displacement rating of up to 16,000 CID. It allows for a minimum three phase voltage rating of 208VAC to a maximum voltage rating of 480 VAC. SAE mounting configurations come standard, but feel free to ask us about our alternative mounting configurations which can also be made available upon request.
